Okondura has been home to four generations of the Liedtke family.
Gerhard Liedtke, mostly known as Gerd, was born in Namibia and is the 3rd generation from the Liedtke family to call Okondura Nord his home. Gerd started hunting with his father in 1974 and despite his modesty, is one of the most renowned hunters in Namibia. He is a professional and one of the few qualified to hunt Big Game. With many years of hunting experience in all parts of Namibia, including the Caprivi and Bushmanland, there is no better man to have at your side when it comes to Trophy Hunting.
Gerd has a natural instinct for hunting and is always aware of his surroundings. Hunting with him is nothing more than an adventure and success is guaranteed. He hunts using the walk and stalk method and believes in a fair chase. Your experience will be one of note and to be remembered for many years to come.
Gerd is also a qualified Agra Engineer and farms with agriculture and livestock on both the Okondura and Kamelbaum farms.
Tim is a trained gunsmith and has a German hunting license. He is an excellent shot with the rifle, but a master of bow hunter. Tim is exceptional at stalking prey, especially when it comes to the Hartmann Bergzebra or those with heightened senses.
Martina is the good soul of Okondura, she is not only responsible for the culinary needs of the guests but also manages the entire organisation's excursions and tours of various kinds.
Ralf is an exceptionally determined hunter. There is no distance too far, no hill too high, and no bush too thorny. With his extraordinary tracking ability, nothing goes uncharted. When it comes to hunting leopards, Ralf is the guide for you.
At Okondura, we pride ourselves in sustainability and our ethics are very important to us. We believe in preserving nature and all its glory with balance. Free-range active hunting is a priority to us. Therefore, we strictly follow the guidelines of the Erongo Directory and are members of the Okawie Conservancy, a herding community made up of approximately 200,000 ha. We solely hunt mature and "suitable" game.
The Okondura farm has no game fences, providing the animals with free-range between the various farms in the area. Any existing fences are mainly for cattle and can easily be crossed by all kinds of game. Our hunting philosophy is that of truly free game, which can evade us at any time by emigration or flight. This implies that the requirements of the hunters' skills are quite high. But in retrospect, the joy of the hard-fought hunting success is even greater.
Hunting at the Okondura Farm will leave you satisfied with a well-deserved experience.
Since we have such a large team, we cannot portray all our hard-working helpers. However, they are all committed to satisfying our guests. Whether it is whilst hunting or during your stay, you can rely on their service.
